Pregolskiy

Pregolskiy is a castle in Kaliningrad Oblast featuring solid stone walls and multiple towers that rise near the Pregolya River. The fortification displays typical European defensive features with a robust structure that commands the landscape.

The castle was built during the Prussian period as Schloss Groß Holstein and served as an important outpost in East Prussia. Following the region's reshaping after 1945, it became part of Russian territory and has undergone various changes since.

The castle displays a blend of German and Russian building styles visible in its stone walls and towers. It represents the cultural transition between the Prussian past and Russian present of the region.
