The Cathedral of the Assumption features the shape of a Latin cross and contains an intricate iconostasis with relics of multiple apostles and saints.
The cathedral served as the residence of the Metropolitan of Mogilev from 1873 to 1926, leading the Catholic Church throughout the Russian Empire.
The building houses religious artifacts, including relics of Saints Peter, John, Thaddeus, Andrew, Paul, Adalbert, and Zeno within its decorated walls.
The cathedral offers religious services and remains open to visitors, with access through the main entrance leading to stairs and a religious gift shop.
Between 1896 and 1897, the cathedral expanded its capacity from 750 to 1500 people through the addition of side chapels and interior modifications.
