Youth Theatre on the Fontanka

The Youth Theatre stands in an old building along the Fontanka River, presenting contemporary and classical performances with permanent actors and guest performers.

The theater opened its doors in 1974 under Vladimir Malishitsky's direction, establishing itself as a center for progressive theatrical expression in Saint Petersburg.

The repertoire spans from Dostoevsky to Shakespeare, with productions that address complex themes through both traditional and experimental staging methods.

Visitors can access two performance spaces within the theater complex, the Main Stage and Big Stage, with shows scheduled throughout the week.

The institution maintains a hundred-member acting ensemble while integrating graduates from the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts into productions.
