Arkhipo-Osipovka, Black Sea coastal village in Gelendzhik District, Russia.
Arkhipo-Osipovka is a coastal village on the Black Sea in Gelendzhik District, Russia, stretching along several beaches. The settlement sits about six meters above sea level and provides direct access to the shoreline as well as smaller bays and river mouths nearby.
Cossacks founded the settlement in 1864 under the name Vulanovskaya. In later decades the place received its current name honoring Arkhip Osipov, a soldier who died during a skirmish in 1840.
The name honors a soldier whose sacrifice became part of local memory. Visitors walking along the promenade can observe traces of Russian Black Sea bathing culture in the small cafés and the architecture of older buildings.
Several beaches lie along the village center and can be reached on foot, while some areas are accessible via steps or gentle ramps. Small shops and restaurants spread along the main roads, and regular connections run to Gelendzhik.
Part of the Blue Stream pipeline runs through the area and terminates at a compressor station on the shore. The facility plays an important role in transporting natural gas under the Black Sea southward.
