Orlyonok, Youth summer camp in Tuapsinsky District, Russia.
Orlyonok is a state youth facility in Tuapsinsky District on the Russian Black Sea coast, spreading across a forested area with various accommodations and sports installations. The complex divides into several independent sections, each offering its own program focus and recreational facilities.
The site opened its gates in summer 1960 as a Soviet pioneer facility and quickly developed into a key location for youth development across the country. It later received a state award recognizing its commitment to youth programs.
The site takes its name from a young eagle and combines sports with workshops on history and nature conservation that participants help shape. Groups often gather at the central square, where evening events and campfires encourage exchange between young people from different regions.
Visitors between 11 and 16 years old spend one to three weeks here, participating in scheduled activities led by group coordinators. The main season runs during warmer months, while a reduced program operates in autumn and winter.
Each of the seven accommodations carries its own name and caters to different interests, from science and sports to creative pursuits. Participants select their preferred section in advance, shaping their experience on site.
