Dachnoye, Decommissioned metro station in Kirovsky District, Saint Petersburg, Russia
Dachnoye was a metro station built on an elevated platform near the intersection of tram lines, with concrete structures and metal installations running the length of the station. It followed the standard layout of the Leningrad metro system and served its immediate neighborhood.
The station opened in 1966 as part of the rapid expansion of the Leningrad metro system during that period. It was closed in 1977 after being deemed unnecessary for the developing transportation network.
The name refers to nearby summer residences and reflects traditional Russian concepts of seasonal community living. Visitors can still sense how this connection shaped the identity of the area.
The site is not open to public access due to safety regulations prohibiting entry to the closed station. The location remains visible from a distance, but visitors cannot enter the grounds.
This was the only elevated station platform in the entire Leningrad metro system, standing apart from all the underground stations. This distinction made it a notable point in the network during its operation.
