Church of Vera, Nadejda, Lubov, and their mother Sophia

This Baroque church in Saint Petersburg combines Italian and Russian architectural features with elegant facade details and a characteristic dome. The interior displays elaborate decorative elements typical of 18th century Russian Baroque design.

The church was built in 1756 by French architect Jean-Baptiste Vallin de La Mothe and formed part of a larger estate. After the Soviet period, the building underwent thorough restoration in 1992-1993 to recover its original condition.

The church honors four early Christian martyrs: three sisters named Faith, Hope, and Love, and their mother Sophia, who suffered persecution under Emperor Hadrian. You can see their stories reflected in the religious artwork and decorations inside.

The church is located at Prospekt Stachek 186A and welcomes visitors interested in exploring the interior. Appropriate clothing is recommended, and visitors should note that photography and tourist activities may be limited during active religious services.

The building stands within the former Vorontsov Estate, an important noble complex in the city. The church received official protective status in 1990, underscoring its importance as an architectural and cultural monument.
