Shchyokinsky District is a municipal area in central Tula Oblast, Russia, organized around the town of Shchyokino as its main center. The district encompasses numerous rural settlements and administrative communities spread across the region.
The district was established in 1924 following administrative reorganizations in the Soviet system. Over the decades it underwent boundary changes and shifts in administrative jurisdiction before reaching its present form.
The district maintains twenty-one rural administrations and four major urban settlements, representing different aspects of central Russian community life and local governance.
The district sits along the main Moscow-Simferopol highway M2, making it accessible from major cities in the region. You can easily move between settlements using the road network.
