Verkhniye Likhobory, Metro station in Beskudnikovsky District, Moscow, Russia
Verkhniye Likhobory is a metro station in the Beskudnikovsky District of northern Moscow, located where Beskudnikovsky Boulevard meets Dmitrovskoye Highway. It has a central island platform serving two tracks on the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line.
The station opened in 2018 as part of a northward extension of the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line, bringing metro access to parts of the city that had long relied mainly on surface transport. The extension was one of several projects carried out during a broad expansion of the Moscow metro network in the 2010s.
The station name comes from the Likhoborka River, a small waterway that runs through this part of northern Moscow and gives the surrounding area its identity. Passengers leaving the station emerge into a residential neighborhood where daily life revolves around local shops and wide tree-lined boulevards.
The station is set in a residential area and is within walking distance of nearby apartment blocks and local streets. Travelers heading further north along the line can stay on the same train without changing, which makes connections straightforward.
A rail yard is planned near the station to serve the maintenance needs of trains running on the line. Such depots are rarely visible to passengers but are essential for keeping a metro line running reliably day after day.
