Vladychnaya Palata, Gothic palace in Novgorod Kremlin, Russia
The Vladychnaya Palata features a grand hall with thirty doors and Gothic architectural elements, including pointed arches and vaulted ceilings from the 15th century.
Archbishop Euthymius II commissioned German architects to construct this palace in 1433, which later witnessed the annexation of Novgorod Republic by Ivan III in 1478.
The palace houses an extensive collection of decorative arts from the Novgorod Museum, displaying Russian jewelry and ecclesiastical items dating from the 5th to 19th centuries.
Visitors can explore two exhibition levels presenting medieval church treasures, including the original Archbishop's chamber and ceremonial reception halls after extensive restoration.
The building contains underground chambers and preserved frescoes from different periods, making it the oldest surviving civil structure from medieval Novgorod.
