Khimki War Memorial, Military memorial in Novoluzhinskoe cemetery, Khimki, Russia
Khimki War Memorial is a monument site in the Alley of Heroes within Novoluzhinskoe cemetery that honors six fallen military personnel. Each burial location bears inscriptions with the names and service dates of the two pilots and four Red Army soldiers interred there.
The memorial was initially established near Leningradskoye Shosse to mark the burial sites of soldiers from the wartime period. It was relocated to its current position in the Alley of Heroes at Novoluzhinskoe cemetery in April 2007.
The site serves as a place where visitors come to remember those who died in service and to honor their sacrifice. The names and inscriptions help keep their stories alive in the community's memory.
The memorial is easy to locate within the well-maintained Novoluzhinskoe cemetery, where clear pathways guide visitors to the burial sites. Information plaques written in Russian provide details about the fallen soldiers for those who can read the language.
Among those buried at this site is Junior Lieutenant Mikhail Alexandrovich Rodionov, who received the highest military honor of the Soviet Union. He fell in combat during June 1942 and rests here as one of the few decorated heroes buried at this location.
