The building was originally founded in 1949 as Club Motherland, constructed by local workers and German prisoners of war under architect Alexander Bod. It later transformed from a post-war cinema club into a center serving the scientific community.

This center serves as a gathering place for Zhukowski's scientific community, hosting art exhibitions, concerts, and practical workshops throughout the year. Visitors can observe how researchers spend their leisure time through activities like traditional Chinese painting classes and flower arrangement sessions.

The center hosts approximately 20 monthly events, ranging from scientific seminars and technology conferences to creative performances and collaborative meetings. The venue is accessible and offers flexible spaces suited for various types of gatherings.
