Kreuz Apotheke Building, Kaliningrad

Kreuz Apotheke Building is a four-story brick structure in Kaliningrad featuring arched doorways, decorative pediments, and floral reliefs across its facade. The design is punctuated by distinctive bay windows arranged around the entire exterior.

Built between 1900 and 1905, the structure served as a pharmacy under pharmacist Adolf Petrenets. After World War II and the city's renaming from Konigsberg to Kaliningrad, it lost its original use.

The building displays Art Nouveau details like stucco ornaments and sun motifs on its facade, reflecting the tastes of early 20th-century merchants in Konigsberg. These decorations tell a story about the wealthy German community that lived here before the city changed.

The building is located at 51-57 Frunze Street and reopened after major renovation work in 2021. Inside, you will find retail spaces, offices, and dining establishments that are accessible throughout the day and evening.

The 2021 reconstruction merged three different architectural styles within the complex while keeping five original entrances intact. This arrangement shows how the building originally consisted of several separate structures that were eventually joined together.
