Zapasnoy palace, 19th century palace in Pushkin, Russia

Zapasnoy Palace is a neoclassical residence in Pushkin built between 1817 and 1818 by architect Vasily Stasov. The building sits on Sofiysky Boulevard and is surrounded by landscaped gardens that form part of the estate.

The building was constructed between 1817 and 1818 in neoclassical style and later underwent major modifications from 1866 to 1878 under architect Alexander Vitov. The estate received additional restoration work during the mid-20th century to maintain its condition.

The residence served as a gathering place for Russian aristocracy, particularly the Kochubey family, reflecting the social practices of 19th-century nobility.

The palace is accessible from Sadovaya Street and sits in a quiet area of Pushkin that is easy to navigate. Visitors can explore the grounds and walk through the surrounding gardens to experience the full estate.

The residence features numerous sculptures and ornamental details across its facade and throughout the gardens that reflect the artistic taste of imperial Russia. These decorative elements showcase craftsmanship that visitors often overlook but which shapes the visual character of the site.
