National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan, Classical historical museum in central Kazan, Russia.
The National Museum occupies the former Gostiny Dvor building, constructed in 1815, featuring Russian classical architectural elements and grand exhibition halls.
Established in 1894 as the Kazan Scientific and Industrial Museum, it stands as one of Russia's earliest museums, holding over 800,000 artifacts.
The museum preserves manuscripts from the 15th to 20th centuries, along with collections of Middle Volga and Ural peoples' material and spiritual heritage.
Located at 2 Kremlevskaya Street, the museum operates from 10:00 to 18:00 on Sundays and Mondays, and until 20:00 Tuesday through Saturday.
Among its remarkable exhibits stands the carriage used by Empress Catherine II during her Kazan visit and the largest beluga fish caught in Volga River.
