Памятник Евгению Леонову, Bronze monument in Mosfilmovskaya Street, Moscow, Russia
The bronze statue depicts actor Evgeny Leonov in character from the film Gentlemen of Fortune, standing with his characteristic expression.
Created by sculptor Ekaterina Chernysheva, the monument was installed in 2001 and later replaced in 2016 after the original was stolen and destroyed.
The monument represents the role of Docent from the 1971 Soviet comedy film, which became one of the most recognized characters in Russian cinema.
The statue stands in the Walk of Fame near Mosfilm studios, where visitors can take photographs and explore other cinema-related monuments.
Seven thieves stole the original monument in 2015 and cut it into pieces at a scrap metal yard before being caught and sentenced.
