Park 300 Years of Saint Petersburg, Waterfront park in Saint Petersburg, Russia
Park 300 Years of Saint Petersburg is a green space along the Gulf of Finland with paved paths for walking, cycling, and outdoor activities. The grounds stretch over a large distance parallel to the coast and offer wide lawns, benches, and some sports facilities.
The grounds were laid out in the mid 1990s to create additional recreation areas in the city. The opening took place before the major celebrations for the three hundredth anniversary of Saint Petersburg.
The name recalls the tricentennial anniversary of the city, celebrated in 2003. Families come here to walk or play sports, while others use the open areas to relax by the water.
The main access is on the Primorsky Prospekt side, while another entrance can be reached from Yakhtennaya Street. Nearby metro stations offer convenient travel for those using public transport.
Three very tall flagpoles stand here and rank among the tallest of their kind in Europe. Their height of 175 meters (574 feet) makes them a visible landmark along the coast.
