Millenium Park, Urban park in central Kazan, Russia
Millennium Park is an urban park in central Kazan with paved pathways, garden areas, and a focal fountain showing a traditional cooking pot held by dragons. The grounds span several hectares and feature eight entrance gates providing access to different sections.
The park opened in 2005 to mark Kazan's 1000th anniversary and replaced an old residential area that frequently flooded from Lake Kaban. This transformation represented a major turning point in how the city used this waterfront land.
A bronze statue of medieval poet Kul Gali stands in the park, representing the literary heritage of the Volga Bulgaria period in Tatar culture.
The park is near Gabdulla Tukay Square metro station and is open year-round with free admission. Benches are distributed throughout the grounds for resting and taking in the surroundings.
The park's decorative iron fence features Zilant dragons, the official symbol of Kazan. All pathways converge at a central point marking where Europe and Asia meet.
