Stroginsky Bridge, Transport bridge in Strogino District, Moscow, Russia
Stroginsky Bridge is a transport bridge spanning across the Moscow River and connecting the districts of Strogino and Shchukino in northwestern Moscow. The structure consists of multiple concrete spans with a wide deck that accommodates both vehicular traffic and a dedicated tramway line.
Construction began in 1980 and the bridge opened to traffic in 1981 as a major infrastructure project for the northwestern region. The structure underwent significant reconstruction in the 1990s to reinforce and extend its service life.
The bridge features distinctive lamp-sculptures designed by artist E.M. Ablin that illuminate the crossing while adding artistic elements to the structure.
The bridge is busy with traffic during peak hours and serves as a major transportation route, so congestion can occur at these times. Pedestrians should use designated walkways and stay alert to vehicular movement.
During the 1998 reconstruction, workers replaced an entire bridge span without interrupting the regular flow of traffic across the structure.
