Trud Stadium, Sports stadium in Podolsk, Russia
Trud Stadium is a sports complex in Podolsk, in the Moscow Region, built around a central football pitch with eight running tracks and two main grandstands. Beneath the grandstands, six multipurpose halls provide space for a range of indoor sports and training activities.
The stadium opened in 1961 and was the largest sports venue in the Moscow Region at the time. During the 1980 Moscow Olympics, it served as a stop along the route of the Olympic torch relay.
The grandstands carry traditional Russian names like Druzhina and Vityazi, which refer to medieval warriors and figures from Russian legend. These names appear on signs around the grounds, giving the everyday sports setting a connection to local history that visitors can notice as they walk through.
The grounds are open during the day and can be reached by car, with parking available on site. It is worth checking in advance which areas are open, since the indoor halls and outdoor spaces do not always operate at the same times.
Although the stadium is mainly associated with football, it hosted FC Vityaz as its home club from 2011 to 2017. The training facilities tucked beneath the grandstands are largely hidden from view outside and tend to surprise visitors who discover them for the first time.
