MSU Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics, faculty of Moscow State University
MSU Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics is a faculty in Moscow, Russia, focused on applied mathematics, computational technology and computer science. The school has computer labs, servers and supercomputers that students can access to work on practical projects.
The faculty was founded in 1970 on the initiative of academician Andrei Tikhonov, a leading scientist of the country. Since then it has grown into a center for training specialists in applied mathematics, computational technology and computer science.
The campus is surrounded by green space and inside there is strong WiFi coverage and cafeterias for students. Visitors should know that the buildings are old and some rooms need renovation, but this does not affect the academic quality.
Since 2003 the faculty has used the Lomonosov supercomputer for research and teaching projects. This advanced equipment lets students work on real scientific problems that would normally only be available to major research institutes.
