Central Stadium

Central Stadium is a sports facility in downtown Chelyabinsk with a capacity of about 15,000 seats for spectators. The complex includes a main football field surrounded by athletic tracks and serves both professional competitions and recreational sports activities.

The facility first opened in 1935 under the name Trud Stadium and has undergone several transformations since its founding. In the early 2000s it received major structural upgrades that modernized the complex.

In January 2014 the football field was temporarily transformed into an ice rink to host the Russian Classic hockey event. This unusual occasion showed how the venue can adapt for special large-scale competitions beyond its regular use.
