Kharitonov Garden, Federal cultural heritage park in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
Kharitonov Garden is a landscaped park on Voznesenskaya Hill with winding paths, decorative ponds, and rotundas connecting multiple architectural elements of the estate. The terrain slopes gently, revealing new views of buildings and water features as you walk through.
The site was created in 1826 as part of the Rastorguyev-Kharitonov Palace complex, marking a major addition to Yekaterinburg's urban growth during the 1800s. Its construction was part of a wave of development that shaped the city during that era.
The garden displays English landscape design that Pyotr Kharitonov commissioned, reflecting European architectural ideas from the early 1800s. You can still see this style in how the paths curve and how the plantings frame the space.
You can enter the garden through the main gate on Karl Liebknecht Street and explore it on foot with plenty of opportunities for photography. The ground is relatively level in lower areas but grows steeper as you climb up the hill.
The estate contains underground passages that connect different areas of the property and have inspired many local stories about their original purpose and use. These tunnels remain partially visible and intrigue visitors exploring the hidden infrastructure of the historic grounds.
