Moscow State University Faculty of Economics, academic body responsible for the teaching and study of economics
The Faculty of Economics at Moscow State University is one of the largest faculties with approximately 1,600 students in the four-year bachelor program and about 600 in the two-year master program. The faculty offers extensive programs across various fields of economics and management.
The Faculty was founded in December 1941 and began with only 28 students and a single department of political economy. In the 1990s, the faculty underwent fundamental changes by abandoning Marxist concepts and introducing new disciplines like management, finance, and international business.
The faculty is named after Moscow State University and reflects its role as a leading Russian educational institution. Visitors can observe students from Russia and abroad studying together in lecture halls and learning spaces, forming an international academic community.
The faculty is located on an accessible campus that can be reached by public transportation. It takes only a few minutes on foot from Universitet metro station, and buses and trams stop nearby.
The faculty operates a free evening school for students in grades 8 through 11 since 1968, teaching future scientists and business leaders. This school is run by students and graduates on a voluntary basis and conducts courses, olympiads, and scientific conferences for secondary students.
