Volgograd Synagogue, Regional cultural heritage synagogue in Voroshilovskiy District, Volgograd, Russia
Beit David Synagogue is a two-story brick building with traditional Jewish architectural features located on Balakhinskaya Street. The main prayer hall occupies the ground floor, while the upper level contains community and administrative spaces.
The building was constructed in 1888 when the city was still called Tsaritsyn, and suffered severe damage during the Battle of Stalingrad. It underwent major restoration work in 1999 after decades of neglect.
The synagogue serves as a gathering place and religious center for Volgograd's Jewish community. It hosts regular services and plays an important role in the community's daily life and spiritual practices.
Access and visiting should be arranged in advance since the building primarily serves religious and community purposes. Visitors are advised to contact the community to learn about hours and visiting conditions.
Beyond its religious role, the building provides practical support to the local community. It also operates a meal program and runs activities for children from Jewish families.
