Чагино, Industrial district in Southeast Moscow, Russia.
Chagino is an industrial district in Southeast Moscow that stretches along the Moscow River. The area contains manufacturing facilities and warehouses within the Southeast Administrative District.
The village of Chagino was severely damaged by a tornado in June 1904 and later rebuilt. It was incorporated into Moscow in 1960 and subsequently developed into a major industrial zone.
The name Chaginskaya Street in the Lyublino district keeps the memory of the former village alive. This street serves as a quiet reminder of the settlement that once existed before the industrial transformation.
The district connects to central Moscow through the nearby Alma-Atinskaya and Bratislavskaya metro stations on the green line. Access to the area is easiest using public transportation.
The territory was once agricultural land with irrigation fields before transforming into one of Moscow's largest industrial zones near Kapotnya. This shift from farming to manufacturing occurred in just a few decades.
