Jeddah Corniche Circuit, Street circuit in Mecca Province, Saudi Arabia
The Jeddah Corniche Circuit is a racing track in Mecca Province that runs along the Red Sea waterfront promenade, covering 6175 meters with 27 corners. The track uses existing streets that remain open to regular traffic when not hosting races and is equipped with lighting systems for events after dark.
The racing course opened in December 2021 for its first Formula 1 race, adding Saudi Arabia to the international racing calendar. Since then, it has welcomed multiple categories of motorsport competitions on the same temporary street layout.
The name links Jeddah's waterfront promenade to international racing culture, bringing modern motorsport events directly to the Red Sea shore. During races, the otherwise public waterfront road transforms into a brightly lit arena where spectators from the region and guests from around the world gather.
Grandstands are positioned at several points along the track, offering different views of racing sections with long straights and tight corners. Parking zones and shuttle buses are organized during events to ease access from the city to the harbor area.
The track design aims for high average speeds among street courses, with sections allowing vehicles to exceed 250 kilometers per hour (155 miles per hour). The lighting consumes about as much energy as several thousand households combined during night races, to illuminate the entire course evenly.
