Al-Shallal Theme Park, Entertainment complex in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Al-Shallal Theme Park covers about 60,000 square metres on Jeddah Corniche. At its centre stands a two-storey entertainment building with an ice-skating rink, party rooms, an arcade and seven restaurants. The Amazon Ride occupies 1,800 square metres and includes a lagoon with a 15-metre waterfall, life-size animal figures and light and sound effects.

Al-Shallal Theme Park is owned by the Tarfeeh Fakieh Group and officially opened on November 25, 2004. In 2001, the group ranked as the 34th largest company in Saudi Arabia, with over $480 million in assets and more than 6,000 employees. In recent years the park has undergone a major transformation aimed at becoming "the best amusement park in KSA."

The park's name, Al-Shallal, means waterfall, and the Amazon Ride zone holds a lagoon with a 15-metre waterfall. Beyond it, themed areas recreate a European village and a Far East village, whose restaurants serve seafood. Party rooms in the two-storey entertainment building can be booked for birthdays and private gatherings.

The park covers 60,000 square metres on Jeddah Corniche. Parking is split between an indoor building for 300 cars and an open-air lot for another 300. The two-storey entertainment building holds the ice rink, arcade, party rooms and seven restaurants, while the Amazon Ride requires a separate ticket.

The Amazon Ride occupies 1,800 square metres and ends in a lagoon with a 15-metre waterfall, entered only with a separate ticket. Life-size animal figures and light and sound effects recreate the rainforest, a detail visitors often mistake for part of the general park.
