King Road Tower, Commercial skyscraper in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
King Road Tower is a modern office building in Jeddah featuring a glass exterior with distinctive curved architectural lines across its facades. The structure houses multiple floors of commercial and office space with a design adapted to the local environment.
The tower was completed in 2011 and represented a key milestone in Jeddah's growth as a modern business district. Its opening coincided with a period when the city expanded its skyline with contemporary office developments.
The LED screen was made by the French firm Citiled, chosen for earlier media façades such as Jean Nouvel's Agbar Tower in Barcelona. Its panels are nearly transparent when mounted, so occupants keep daylight and outward views. The tower is also called the Screen Tower (Burj al-Shasha) in Arabic.
The building features 14 elevators distributed throughout to provide efficient access across all floors for workers and visitors. The infrastructure was designed to handle regular high usage and ensures convenient movement within the structure.
The construction incorporates specialized wind-bracing systems engineered specifically to maintain structural stability in coastal conditions. This technical approach was necessary because the tower's seaside location experiences consistent strong winds from the Red Sea.
