Kungsbacka, Administrative town in Halland County, Sweden.
Kungsbacka is a town in Halland County on Sweden's west coast, located about 28 kilometers south of Gothenburg. It spreads across residential areas and green spaces, centered around a train station that connects it to larger cities.
The settlement began as a Danish town in the 15th century and became Swedish territory in 1658. Major fires in 1846 and 2006 destroyed parts of the town and led to significant rebuilding and changes.
The Naturum Fjärås Bräcka visitor center near town shows an Iron Age burial ground with about 100 gravestones scattered across the landscape. You can walk among these ancient stones and learn how people lived thousands of years ago in this region.
The train station serves as the southern terminal of Gothenburg's commuter rail network, making it easy to reach the city and surrounding areas by train. The location works well as a base for exploring the coast and countryside nearby.
Seven golf clubs operate about 13 different courses throughout the year in and around the area. This makes it a favorite spot for golfers visiting western Sweden.
