Masthugget Church

The brick church stands at the highest point of Stigberget hill, featuring a prominent tower visible across central Gothenburg's harbor district.

Built between 1910 and 1914 according to architect Sigfrid Ericson's design, this church marked the establishment of the new Masthugget parish.

The interior holds a triptych altarpiece depicting the Ascension, the Prayer in Gethsemane, and the Crucifixion of Christ in three separate panels.

The church welcomes visitors daily from 10:00 to 16:00, with regular Sunday services at 11:00 and facilities for people with reduced mobility.

The church houses the largest organ in the Diocese of Gothenburg, constructed in 1914 by Johannes Magnusson with 4,000 pipes.
