Motala Motor Museum, Transportation museum in Motala, Sweden
The Motala Motor Museum displays roughly 300 working vehicles across about 2400 square meters of space near Lake Vättern in central Sweden. The collection spans two floors and covers different periods of vehicle technology and repair craftsmanship.
The museum opened in 1995 and preserves a complete auto repair shop from the 1920s and 1930s that shows how vehicle work was done in that era. The shop demonstrates the tools, methods, and technical knowledge that mechanics used long ago.
You can see cameras, radios, tape recorders, and record players that were made in the local Luxor factory over many decades. These items show how manufacturing shaped the town and its people.
The museum spreads across two floors and has facilities designed for visitors with disabilities to move around comfortably. There is an on-site restaurant where you can have breakfast and lunch during your visit.
The collection includes a 1975 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham that once belonged to Elvis Presley and a Mercedes-Benz CL 65 AMG that came from Swedish footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic. These two cars come from different eras and show how famous people from various periods have connections to the museum.
