Norra Tornen, Twin residential towers in Vasastaden, Sweden.
Norra Tornen consists of two residential towers in Vasastaden, one reaching 125 meters and the other 110 meters in height. The complex holds around 300 apartments, each with at least one balcony, and is arranged to define the boundary between two neighborhoods.
Construction began in 2015 based on architect Aleksander Wolodarski's design, with the east tower completed in 2018 and the west tower in 2020. The project emerged as part of residential development in a rapidly changing area of the city.
The towers mark the transition between Vasastaden and Hagastaden districts, incorporating elements of 1960s architecture with modern Swedish residential design principles.
Both towers provide access to shared facilities including a cinema room, gym, sauna, and yoga space that residents and guests can use. The location at the boundary of two neighborhoods makes it easy to explore both areas on foot.
The concrete facade elements are embedded with colorful pebbles that create a shimmering terrazzo-like effect in sunlight. This material choice brings warmth to the modern scale of the buildings.
