Göteborgs nation

Göteborgs nation is a student organization at Uppsala University located in a central building at S:t Larsgatan 7A. The house provides residential accommodations in upper floors and common areas where members gather for socializing.

Founded in 1667, the organization moved into its first dedicated building in 1822 at the corner of S:t Johannesgatan and S:t Larsgatan. This location became the permanent home where members could gather and build community.

The nation hosts regular student events such as pub nights and quiz competitions that strengthen bonds among members. Visitors will find young people gathering, socializing, and enjoying meals together in the communal spaces.

The Latin name Natio Gothoburgensis comes from the original students who came from Gothenburg, Bohuslän, and Halland regions. This regional connection reflects how early student organizations were built around geographic ties rather than just shared interests.
