Hallands nation, Student nation in Lund, Sweden
Hallands nation is a student organization in Lund housed in three interconnected buildings at Thomanders väg. The complex provides approximately 98 residential spaces combining corridor rooms with modern apartments for university students.
This student organization was founded in 1928 after breaking away from Göteborgs nation, initially representing 80 members from the Halland province. It gradually became an established part of the student community in Lund.
The nation maintains active ties with student organizations throughout Scandinavia, fostering a sense of regional solidarity among members. This Nordic connection shapes how members interact and participate in events together.
Members receive priority access to event tickets and can join weekly activities including pub quizzes, karaoke nights, and student lunches. The nation serves as a good place to meet other students and participate in university social life.
The annual Bockbalen celebration, held since 1966, is a formal gathering that takes place each March at the Grand Hotel. This long-standing tradition remains a highlight of the organization's yearly calendar.
