Brogård, Manor house in Upplands-Bro Municipality, Sweden.
Brogård is a three-story manor house filled with Empire mirrors, mahogany furnishings, and elegant chandeliers throughout its rooms. Six bedrooms are distributed across multiple reception spaces that reflect classical Swedish design from the early 1800s.
The estate's foundations date from the 13th century before architect Carl Christoffer Gjörwell redesigned it in the 1700s. The Michael family purchased the property in 1841 and shaped its character for generations afterward.
The rooms carry marks of previous inhabitants through handwritten notes and personal objects tucked among the furnishings. These traces reveal how different families shaped the house through their time here.
The estate houses several operating businesses including a farm, golf course, hotel, and marina that help sustain the property's upkeep. Visitors can explore different areas ranging from the main house to the various facilities spread across the grounds.
During renovations, workers discovered and matched the original color scheme of each room by carefully removing multiple layers of historical paint. This meticulous restoration allowed spaces to return to their authentic visual state from the 1800s.
