Flat Iron Building, Stockholm, Modern office building at Norra Bantorget, Sweden.
The Flat Iron Building in Stockholm is a modern office complex with a distinctive triangular shape at the intersection of railway tracks and city streets. The facade combines glass and concrete elements that define the look of the Norra Bantorget area in the city center.
The building was completed in 2009 by Rosenbergs Arkitekter and marked the beginning of a major transformation in the Norra Bantorget area. This complex became part of a large-scale urban renewal that turned the former railway district into a modern hub.
The building received the Concrete Product Industry's architecture prize for its innovative design that connects the railway district with residential spaces.
The building is easily accessible from the main transport hub around the railway station and can be reached from multiple directions. Its location at the intersection makes it simple to orient yourself and explore the surrounding neighborhood.
The facade was designed using special concrete elements arranged in a way that creates different patterns as light changes throughout the day. Visitors often notice this optical effect most clearly in the morning and evening when sunlight hits the wall at sharper angles.
