Kärsö gård stands on a peninsula by Långtarmen in Mälaren, featuring a main building with distinct architectural elements including a gazebo, dove house, and bathhouse.

The estate dates to 1287 under Bishop Bengt Birgersson's ownership, who donated it to Klara Convent in Stockholm before the crown acquired it during the Reformation.

The manor represents Swedish architectural traditions with its 1757 reconstruction maintaining original facade elements and incorporating designs by renowned architect Torben Grut.

The estate spans 350 hectares of land, combining arable fields and forests, making it one of the largest private properties in the Ekerö Municipality.

Medieval masonry remains in the basement, while the 1670s estate layout was documented in Erik Dahlbergh's Suecia illustration, featuring a windmill and palatial structure.
