Malmö Live, Entertainment centre in Universitetsholmen, Malmö, Sweden
Malmö Live is a major entertainment center on a peninsula with connected building complexes that house a concert hall, conference rooms, a hotel, and multiple restaurants. The structures are linked by corridors and sit directly alongside the waterfront.
The complex was designed in the early 2010s and completed in 2015, transforming an abandoned port area into a working entertainment venue. Its opening marked a major turning point in reshaping the neighborhood as a modern cultural hub.
Inside, there are separate event spaces where different groups gather daily, from families attending children's programs to professionals at conferences. The way the building organizes these different audiences shows how a city brings people together for various purposes.
The center has multiple entrances, with the main entrance on the northern side and additional access points from the waterside promenade. Visitors can easily walk through the site and all areas are connected to each other.
The building was designed with materials and technologies that lower its energy use, including green roof systems and smart climate control. These environmental features are less obvious but make up a large part of how it runs daily.
