Strindbergshuset, Karlaplan

Strindbergshuset at Karlaplan is a residential building from the 1970s featuring modern design with glazed ceramic tiles on its facade. It holds multiple apartments and ground-floor retail spaces, organized around a contemporary courtyard.

An earlier building on this site was home to Swedish writer August Strindberg from 1901 to 1908. The original structure was demolished in 1969 and replaced with the current construction.

The building honors Swedish writer August Strindberg, whose residence here became central to Stockholm's literary history. Visitors walking past can sense the connection to one of Scandinavia's most important authors.

The building sits centrally at Karlaplan and is easily reached by public transport. The area offers cafes, shops, and other conveniences within walking distance.

Fragments from the demolished original building were preserved and now decorate the Näckrosen subway station in Stockholm. These salvaged pieces connect the historical residence to a modern public space.
