Strindbergshuset, Karlaplan, Apartment building at Karlaplan, Stockholm, Sweden.
The modern apartment complex at Karlaplan features a contemporary design with glazed ceramic tiles and a newly constructed courtyard facade.
From 1901 to 1908, the previous building at this location served as the residence of Swedish writer August Strindberg until its demolition in 1969.
The original structure, known as the Red House, contained a five-room apartment with 3.85-meter-high ceilings where Strindberg wrote numerous literary works.
The current building, completed in 1971, contains multiple residential units and retail spaces on the ground floor, following architect Hack Kampmann's design.
Elements from the demolished original building are now displayed as decorative features at the Näckrosen subway station in Stockholm.
