Tofta herrgård

Tofta herrgård is a manor house in Södra Bohuslän with a main building, wings, gardens, and tree-lined avenues situated between Kungälv and Marstrand. The property functions as a hotel with 18 rooms in two separate buildings called Smedjan and Verkstan, and it also has conference facilities.

The manor originated in the 15th century when it was given as compensation to the Chief Judge of Bohuslän. The property evolved over subsequent centuries as it passed through different periods and ownership.

The main building displays original 18th-century wallpapers and furnishings that reflect how the Swedish gentry once lived. Walking through the rooms gives you a sense of the household's daily routines and domestic life from that period.

The property sits between Kungälv and Marstrand, roughly 35 minutes north of Gothenburg by car. You can stay in the historic buildings or modern structures, and the venue also works for conferences and gatherings.

Two outdoor hot tubs and a 15-person sauna designed by architect Karin Wingårdh were added in 2022. These modern facilities create an interesting contrast with the historical surroundings.
