Tornet, Linköping, Hotel building in Linköping, Sweden
Tornet is a 19-story tower in Linköping's city center that contains 70 apartment-style hotel units for guests. The building rises approximately 68 meters and was designed by Johannes Tovatt and White Architects.
The site was formerly part of a slaughterhouse district starting in 1911 and housed a brick water tower before Tornet was constructed. The new building replaced this industrial past with a contemporary residential hotel.
The tower blends into Linköping's historic surroundings through its brick-toned exterior, creating visual continuity with the city's older architecture. This design choice helps the structure feel rooted in the local building tradition.
Each apartment includes a full kitchen, free internet access, and self-service check-in via a key box in the lobby. Allow time to orient yourself, as the tower has many floors and elevators may be busy during peak periods.
Select apartments on the 15th and 16th floors offer unobstructed panoramic views across the entire city, revealing Linköping from a distinctive vantage point. These upper-level units are favored by visitors drawn to this rare outlook over the city.
