Yngen lake

Yngen Lake covers 27 square kilometers at 199 meters above sea level, featuring forested islands and mineral-rich shores in eastern Filipstad.

The lake supplies drinking water to multiple cities including Filipstad, Nykroppa, and Persberg while supporting local fishing activities.

The water maintains high visibility depths of 10 meters due to surrounding calcareous rock formations that stabilize pH levels.

The lake contains one of the original arctic char populations found south of Dalälven, along with alpine bullhead and European perch species.
