Belianska Cave, Show cave in Tatranská Kotlina, Slovakia.
Belianska Cave is a limestone system extending 3,829 meters through the northern slope of Kobylí Hill at 890 meters elevation. The route passes through chambers filled with stalactites, stalagmites, and underground water formations.
The cave contains inscriptions from gold prospectors dating to the first half of the 18th century, leading to its rediscovery in 1826. It was later developed as a tourist destination and has remained popular ever since.
The Musical Hall draws visitors with natural sound created by water dripping into pools below. This quality has made it a special venue for classical music performances.
The cave maintains a constant temperature between 5 and 6.3 degrees Celsius, so warm clothing is recommended. The guided tour lasts about 70 minutes and involves climbing 860 steps.
Seven bat species inhabit this cave system, using it as a refuge year-round. The dark grey Gutenstein limestone formations originated during the Middle Triassic period, revealing millions of years of geological history.
