Zadný Ľadový štít

Eistaler Schulter is a mountain summit in the High Tatras at approximately 2,465 meters (8,088 feet) elevation. From the top, views extend across the surrounding valleys and neighboring peaks of the range.

The name comes from German mountaineers who explored and mapped this section of the Carpathians in the 19th century. Their efforts to chart the peaks left lasting names throughout the region.

The High Tatras region maintains mountain rescue traditions dating back generations, with local guides sharing knowledge of safe passage through these peaks.

Access is through marked trails starting from Poprad, though winter conditions require specialized gear and extra caution. Sturdy footwear and attention to changing weather are important throughout the year.

The terrain displays sharp geological features shaped by ancient glaciers that carved distinct ridges and steep rock faces. These ice-age processes created the distinctive angular profile you see when approaching the peak.
