Inovec, Mountain summit in Western Carpathians, Slovakia.

Inovec is the highest summit of the Považský Inovec range, rising to 1,041.6 metres above the villages of Selec and Dubodiel. Its broad massif is built of crystalline schists, mainly mica schists and gneisses, with steep western slopes dropping into the Selecká kotlina basin and gentler eastern slopes descending toward the Bánovská pahorkatina hills. The summit area is forested and holds a telecom transmitter and a steel lookout tower.

Inovec was the highest point of the former West Slovak Region, a status it held until regional boundaries changed. The summit's position above the Váh valley made it a natural landmark, and its slopes were long used for forestry and grazing. A small tourist centre with chalets and a ski lift grew on the north-eastern ridge, while the summit itself later received a telecom transmitter.

The name Inovec is used for the whole Považský Inovec range, whose highest point this is. The slopes below the summit are a well-known mushrooming ground, and the ridge is partly cleared, with spruce monoculture beside the natural mixed forest. The Chata pod Inovcom on the northern foot is the best-known hut of the small resort on the north-east shoulder.

Marked trails reach the summit from Selec (green), Dubodiel (blue) and Mníchova Lehota (red), and an asphalt road serves the huts and the transmitter. Chata pod Inovcom stands below the northern slope. The top is forested, so the circular view comes from the steel tower built in 2016; on clear days Babia hora, Veľká Rača and the West Tatras are visible.

The steel lookout tower on the summit was built in 2016. Because the top itself is covered by continuous forest, the tower is the only place with a full circular view; in good conditions observers have sighted Schneeberg in the Alps and the Western Tatras.
