Mały Krywań

Kleiner Krummhorn is a mountain summit in the High Tatras that rises to about 2,334 meters (7,657 feet) and features steep rocky slopes. The peak has a granite composition and drops sharply toward Krivánske Zelené pleso lake on its eastern side.

The mountain was once the site of mining operations that extracted gold and antimony from its southern face. These operations were gradually abandoned as economic conditions made them unprofitable.

The peak forms part of a ridge that serves as an important waypoint for hikers crossing this region of the High Tatras. Local mountaineers consider it a natural landmark that helps navigate the surrounding terrain.

The summit is reached via marked hiking trails that start from the Tri studničky area and pass through Grúnik before the final ascent. Hikers should expect steep terrain and rocky sections, so sturdy footwear is essential.

The eastern slope drops so sharply to Krivánske Zelené pleso that it creates a natural amphitheater shape when viewed from certain angles. Few visitors notice this formation, yet it becomes striking once you spot it from the right vantage point.
