Zejmarská roklina, National nature reserve in Slovak Paradise, Slovakia
Zejmarská roklina is a limestone gorge in the Slovak Paradise region that narrows in places and contains several small waterfalls and rock pools formed by flowing water. The route passes through sections where the canyon walls rise on both sides, creating a confined walkway through the landscape.
The gorge was designated as a protected area to preserve its limestone formations and natural character. It became part of the larger Slovak Paradise reserve system, which has safeguarded the region's geological features for many decades.
The reserve forms part of the educational trail NCH Slovenský raj, connecting visitors with the natural heritage of the Slovak Paradise region.
Access to the gorge is via a marked hiking trail beginning at Biele Vody that leads through the canyon. The walk requires sure-footedness and sturdy footwear, especially in wet sections where rocks can become slippery.
Hikers navigate steep rock faces using permanently installed metal chains and ladders anchored into the stone. This equipment allows walkers to traverse sections of the canyon that would otherwise be impassable.
