Ciemnosmreczyńska Turnia, Mountain peak in High Tatras, Slovakia
Ciemnosmreczyńska Turnia is a mountain peak in the High Tatras rising to about 2142 meters. Its northern face drops steeply toward the Valley za Mnichem, while the southern side descends toward the Piargová valley.
The peak was first climbed in September 1904. A winter ascent followed decades later, marking important moments in the climbing history of the Tatras.
The peak takes its name from the Ciemne Smreczyny region in the Koprów Valley. Visitors find that this name reflects the darker forest character of the surrounding landscape.
The peak has multiple climbing routes with varying difficulty levels, but no marked hiking trails reach the summit. Those attempting a climb should be familiar with alpine terrain and conditions before starting.
The southwestern face features three distinct ridges separated by two depressions. The rightmost ridge forms a gully dropping from the pass below Zadni Mnich.
