Vyšný kostúr, Mountain summit in High Tatras, Slovakia and Poland
Vyšný kostúr rises to an elevation of 2083 meters, featuring steep slopes that descend into the Dolina Pięciu Stawów Polskich valley on its northeastern face.
The first documented climb to the summit occurred on August 20, 1905, when mountaineer Zygmunt Klemensiewicz successfully reached the peak during summer conditions.
The mountain holds different names across languages, known as Oberer Liptauer Wachturm in German and Felső-Liptói-Őrszem in Hungarian, reflecting the regional cultural diversity.
Access to the summit requires advanced mountaineering skills and proper equipment, with the nearest mountain shelter located approximately 1937 meters to the northeast.
The mountain presents two different recorded elevations between its Polish and Slovak measurements, with a 59-meter variation between the countries.
